For this part of the project, we got to dicect animals. We all got to do a survey of what we wanted to do with having quite a few of choices to dissect with myself choosing a shark-or a dogfish. I did a write up and studied the shark from the outside to the inside with all the organs and such all on a write up. A few days, up to a week, a few others including myself were going to dissect sharks but unfortunately they were not going to come in till around spring break which we were going to dissect in a few days so I thought I would just watch and observe others dissect. The day had come and I was to write down the observations of the dissection of the Fetal pig. Right then and there Jem, the one who was dissecting by himself asked if I wanted to help and dissect so of course I did that instead. With having a different animal to learn about with just a little amount of time to study on, I learned all of the organs and such right off the bat with pointing out everything. As the were dissecting, our goals were to remove all of the organs and such carefully and neatly if were to put them back inside the pig and sew it back up and thats exactly what we did. Every organ we removed so neatly I was blown away! I had learned so much with dissecting the pig, that I felt like a doctor, haha. I could have done this any day again with Jet again with both of us using teamwork to extract everything out. I still am blown away of how neat all of it was extracted like the right and left lungs, heart, etc that it could have been preserved. As it took us 3-4 days to extract everything out, we at the same time learned so much as myself being very proud of learning a whole different animal to study like from a shark that lives and breaths water with then going to something that lives on land and breaths air. If I were to grade myself I would definitely say 12/10 along with Jem. We both took our time and thought everything out with producing a great after project reflection and both being proud. I would definitely suggest this again in the future especially myself learning two animals!
